A ruby is a gemstone with different colors of red. It is a variety of aluminium oxide called corundum. Traces of chromium makes the red color and the name comes from the latin word ruber. Synthetic rubies can be manufactured to a low price and in that particular case it is called 'created ruby'. Rubies are related to sapphires that also has a compound of aluminium oxide. Rubies, sapphires, emeralds and diamonds are the four most valuable gemstones in the world. The finest rubies in the world is mined in the mogok valley in myanmar but these findings has decreased the recent years. Natural rubies have imperfection like inclusions and color impurities. When the stone is heated to 3000 degree celsius, silk is removed to improve a better color of red.
