Like aquamarine, emerald is a variety of the mineral beryl but has a more clear green color to some degree. The green colors is given by trace of chromium and sometimes iron. It is by weight the most valuable gemstone found primarily in the world however, emeralds are also made less so by inclusions, which to an degree all emeralds have. Shades in green and with a little blue green variation is common to emeralds and a wide spectrum of clarity with some inclusions. Sometimes in rare cases a trapiche emerald is found in the mines of colombia. The structure of a trapiche is a six-sided radial pattern like a star.
