Carbon minerals are found around the world and 18 percent of your body weight is based on carbon. Carbon in its most concentrated form are the mineral we know as the diamond. There are 3 basic forms of carbon. Diamond as a clear and extremely hard crystal, graphite and fullerite carbon made of perfectly spherical molecule structure and has exactly 60 carbon atoms in it. Diamond forms when heat and pressure in extreme form occure and there are only a few places where this is possible. In an archean cratons temperatures of 1,652 F can be reached where created billions of years ago. 161 km below the earth's crust in the molten rock diamonds are formed. When magma flows through very deep openings
in the earth it acts like an elevator and the diamons are pushed out on the surface. These openings are called kimberlite pipes and diamonds are found in kimberlite rocks that has a bluish color.
